Biography

Georges Lambert, painter, printmaker, and illustrator, was born in Paris, France on 8 June 1919. He studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière where he was a student of Othon Friesz. Lambert became a leader of the Paris School and had numerous international exhibitions. As an illustrator, he is known for his illustrating Niccolo Machiavelli’s The Prince. Lambert maintained a studio on the Rive Gauche from 1946 until his death in Paris on 10 May 1998.
