	Description
Notes Chamberlain on page 419 of In a Modern Rendering: The Color Woodcuts of Gustave Baumann, '"Aspen Thicket" is the eleventh color woodcut based on Baumann's sketches and temperas of the Pecos Wilderness in the Santa Fe National Forest. Located at the south end of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the Pecos Wilderness extends over 200,000 acres. Its high summits, forests, plateaus, and miles of streams provided Baumann with a fertile and seemingly unlimited sketching ground.'
