Description
William S. Rice was rendering flowers as early as 1890 and flora and fauna held his fascination throughout his career. Over the years, we have a sold impressions of his color woodcuts depicting magnolias, callas, peonies, and tulips but this is the only impression of "Duchess Roses" that we have had to offer collectors. It is a beautiful rendition of a vintage rose that is in the process of opening its petals.
