Description
Healdsburg is located in the Sonoma County, California. Healdsburg is the center of where three of the most important wine-producing regions, the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley meet. Located in the southwestern section of the Dry Creek watershed, Mill Creek is a tributary to Dry Creek and flows southeasterly for about 12 miles, entering Dry Creek on the right, near its confluence with the Russian River, at an elevation of about 60 feet. The early inhabitants of the area were Pomo people, who built villages along the Russian River. In the mid-19th century, European settlers began living in the Russian River region. Farming of orchards and trucks farms were common from the 1890s to 1940s.
