Description

This color lithograph was created at the University of New Mexico in conjunction with Tamarind Workshop, which at the time was located in Los Angeles. Young, who is British by birth, taught at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque for three years before moving to San Francisco in 1968.

The Sandias are a mountain range located east of Albuquerque. Sandia Peak mountain can be accessed by an aerial tramway to the observation deck at over 10,000 feet.
