Description
This was the second print of five offered by the San Francisco Chronicle in their series Contemporary Graphics on Sunday, March 24, 1940. Arthur C. Painter wrote the following: '"End of Clue" shows Shirley Stachen's mastery of the subtleties of the graphic medium. The artist suggests an interpretation of life as it may appear to some who, in their search for happiness, have reached the end of their "clues" and pass dissatisfied from existence, only to continue their purposeless search in limbo.'
