Description
Baumann carved and printed this image first in 1909 under the title "Country Circus," (Chamberlain cat. 11.1) and was among the last few images recorded by Baumann under the heading Chicago. As Baumann was wont to do when he revisited an image, the palette and title changed dramatically between the first edition and the second--printed nearly three decades apart--from an autumnal burnt orange and gray, to a lively grass green and plum.
