Description
Max Pollak did this intaglio based on his observations in Mexico and Central America. He uses a black etched line to define the composition -- a small herd of seahorses, tails attached to stalks of seaweed and fish drifting by.
Using aquatint and a black-green ink he creates an underwater landscape, the bottom of a shallow, tropical sea. The Pacific coast was the source of a number of Pollak's printed images.
