Description
An accomplished, early drawing in ink by W.S. Rice, done on May 12, 1893, when he was 20 years old and still living in Pennsylvania. It indicates the life-long interest he had in botany, especially flowers, which he carried on with his color woodcuts, intaglios and watercolors after moving to California.
This drawing is ink signed and dated by the artist in the lower right of the composition.
