This is a view of Belvedere Island in Marin County, California. Belvedere is situated on the Tiburon Peninsula between Richardson Bay and the town of Tiburon. It was incorporated in 1896 and was originally a fishing-based community. Today the homes on Belvedere, with views of San Francisco, Sausalito, Mount Tamalpais, and the Golden Gate Bridge command some of the highest prices in California. The city is also the most Republican city in Democratic-leaning Marin County.
