The editioned impressions of "Family", such as this, are colored quite differently than the color trial proof illustrated in the catalogue raisonné. As with many of Hayter's work from this period the color was applied using stencils and rollers, each impression will vary slightly in color. "Family" was published by the St. George's Gallery in London. Hayter printed the edition at Atelier 17 with help from other artists working there.
