A charming collaborative etching of San Francisco's Chinatown by California illustrator Ernest Peixotto to illustrate author Robert Howe Fletcher's "Ten Drawings in Chinatown", commissioned by San Francisco publisher and bookseller A. M. Robertson.
"Ten Drawings" is a scarce work and when found at all is usually in dreadful condition because of its cumbersome format, or incomplete because the portfolio format. The handsome separate plates tempted many printsellers and decorators to break up sets, such as this print. Also, A.M. Robertson's bookstore on Union Square was completely destroyed in the earthquake and fire of 1906 and any remaining inventory of this title would have gone with it.
