Description
This atmospheric engraving is done using a roulette tool with just a couple of drypoint lines to help emphasize the white space. This proof impression is dedicated to master printer/printmaker Eugen Delatre ("a Delatre") above the pencil signature. Delatre's red collector's stamp is in lower right corner (Lugt 742). 'Parc de Saint-Cloud' is a park that had once been an estate. It is located in Saint-Cloud, in the Hautes-de-Seine near Paris. The terraced gardens were designed by Andre le Notre in 1658 for Louis XIV's younger brother. The park contains Marie Antoinette's rose garden and has a panoramic view of Paris.
