Description
John Allen Ryan studied art at the California School of Fine Arts in the mid 1940's. In 1954 he was a co-founder of the "6" gallery, where Ginsberg first read "Howl". A history of the gallery, written by Ryan can be found on page 55 of "The Beat Generation Gallleries and Beyond", 1996, John Natsoulas Press.
