Bill Howard Armstrong




Bill Howard Armstrong was born in Horton, Kansas on Dec. 13, 1926.  He attended the University of Illinois (MA) and Bradley University (BA), teaching at both.  Between 1955 and 1963 he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, and is now a Professor Emeritus at Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield, MO.

Armstrong has worked as a printmaker, graphic designer and book illustrator throughout his career.  He worked as a consultant to the Ford Foundation in the mid 1950’s.  He has exhibited with the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) and numerous venues throughout the U.S.

Armstrong is a Founder and honorary president of the Watercolor USA Honor Society and a member of the Boston Printmakers as well as a number of watercolor societies.
