Chinese born American printmaker Seong Moy is another artist who had worked in the WPA and studied at Atelier 17 in New York and with Hans Hoffman. Moy's work, though abstract, drew on the calligraphic imagery of the Chinese.
For this abstract expression composition, "Evi-O #2", Moy used color woodcut combined with screen print and highlighted with hand applied gold leaf. Each impression varies in its coloring, making then more "monoprints". To account for these differences Moy editions this as an Artist's Proof, 9/35.
