Description
Machapuchare, or "Fishteil" in Nepali, is a peak in north central Nepal. It is often considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, and is sacred to local populations in its association with the god Shiva, making it off limits to commercial climbing and exploitation. Of note in regards to Wagener's woodengraving technique is his exclusive use of single-line as opposed to multiple-line carving tools, meaning that each line, in its delicate uniformity, is carved individually.
