Description
Singleness is a theme that appears again and again in Quandt’s etchings. Here, with Light Bulb, her focus is on a single hanging light bulb, but she created imagery around a single ram’s skull, a single chair, a single tea cup, a single window, and a single woman in Alone on the Beach. Quandt was meticulous in her printmaking from working the plate, selecting her papers, placing her signature and title, and eventually designing a chop to embossed the paper.
