Description
To create the print "CSFA 1952" Byron McClintock uses a combination of mezzotint, drypoint and roulette, printed in color. McClintock, who was part of the Abstract Expressionist movement in the San Francisco Bay Area reinvigorated his printmaking career while in his early seventies in Portland, Oregon, while battling macular degeneration. This color intaglio is an homage to McClintock's early days at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco, where he studied with Richard Diebenkorn and printmaker James Budd Dixon.
