Description
Artist and museum director George W. Eggers (1883-1958) studied with lithographer Bolton Brown. He was director at the Art Institute of Chicago (1916-21), Denver Art Museum (1921-26) and the Worcester Museum of Art (1926-30) after which he was Chairman of the Art Dept at City College in NY. This academic figure drawing was from the collection of his good friend and collegue, Gustave Baumann.
