Description
French Church Series #39; dedicated: "To my friend William J. Schaldach, / with sincerest appreciation / John Taylor Arms - 1937". An excellent impression, given to a close friend and fellow etcher whose work Arms admired. Arms, a trained and working architect, created a series of 55 intricate etchings of churches and cathedrals throughout France. For more information on Arms see our Biography above. Saint Riquier is located near Abbyville, Somme in northern France. Famous for its abbey it was built in 625 by Riquier, the son of the town's governor. It is an excellent example of Gothic architecture from the 15th century.
