A fanning "book" of ninety abstract, calligraphic lithographs. Forty-five are black images printed on white card stock paper. On the verso, the forty-five images are reversed with white on black. The cover page reads: "Diter Rot / Lay-out / + binding / you dont say / Alcopley / 1962." The front "page" is signed in ink and numbered 29/150 and bears a pencil dedication that is dated 8/12/1964. The pages fan out from a long bolt and two washers that hold the pages at the top. Presented in a black taped box with notches for the bolt to fit into. "You don’t say" was included in the exhibition "Writing in Painting and Drawing. Oils, Prints, Drawings by Al Copley", Goethe House, New York. Contribution by Dieter Roth: Dieter Roth was responsible for the typographical design of the book.
