Ellsworth Kelly's first screenprint, published in the portfolio Ten Works x Ten Painters in an edition of 500. Included in the project were Kelly, Gene Davis, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, George Ortman, Larry Poons, Ad Reinhardt, Frank Stella, and Andy Warhol. Publishing was overseen by Samuel Wagstaff, Jr. and published by the Wadsworth Antheneum, Hartford, CT.
From the catalogue raisonne: "Kelly's first screenprint repeats the composition and color of the painting Red/Blue, 1964. Both were derived from a series of untitled ink and pencil drawings and collages. ...The shape and rectangular ground of the print and the paintings also appeared in a painted-aluminum relief sculpture, Blue on Blue, 1963."
