This composition is number 29 from a series of 46 etchings titled "Quelques Unes by Francis Carco", published in 1931 by Pro Amicis, Paris. 'Chaise Table, Fauteuil' had 13 full page etchings, of which this was one.

The edition consisted of four copies on Japon paper,such as this impression, which is numbered "3/4" which contained a set of all the plates in the first state. There was then a printing of 126, 26 of which also had impressions from the first state but are printed on Arches paper, numbered from 5 to 130. There were also 12 presentation copies done.

Francis Carco (1886-1958) was a French author, born at Nouméa, New Caledonia. He was a poet, belonging to the Fantaisiste school, a novelist, a dramatist, and art critic for L'Homme libre and Gil Blas.
