Description
This color intaglio is done using aquatint and scraping of the plate as well as open bite etching. The artist applied the colors in a single printing using different density rollers to apply the inks and letting the viscosities of the inks blend when printed. The impressions will vary slightly from print to print.
This impression is from the estate of printmaker, author Fritz Eichenberg and is the one used to illustrate Haass' work in Eichenberg's "The Art of the Print", plate 81 (in color), page 548, ISBN 0-8109-0103-X.
