Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake wholly within California and is believed to be the oldest natural lake in North America. Clear Lake is known for bass fishing and is a paradise for all those who love boating. There are over a hundred miles of shoreline ringing the lake. William Rice produced a few drypoints and a color block print depicting the willows and other trees thriving along the shoreline
