This impression is a printers proof in the first state, with the image printed twice, in opposite directions. The impression has the red collector's stamp of Albert Marioni (Lugt 150b) in the lower left corner of each image and also is from the estate of author, museum director and collector Michael Wentworth (1938-2002) who wrote the catalogue raisonné on James Tissot. His stamp is on the lower right (not in Lugt). The second state adds the the artist's name and the printer's name beneath the image. "Jalousie" was printed in the magazine 'L'Artiste', 3rd Series, volume 4 in 1843. The image was also used for the series "Les Chevaliers de la Belle-Etoile" (Knights of the Open Air), "La Sylphide."
