Marcos Yrizarry (or, Irizarry) executed this multiple-technique print at the Colibri Galeria in Puerto Rico, probably in the early 1970s. The gallery was founded by Italian artist Luigi Marrozinni, who arrived in Puerto Rico in the early 1960s. Marrozinni quickly established himself as one of Puerto Rico's top promotors of the printmaking medium as a fine art.
In 1962, with the support of the Institute for Puerto Rican Culture, Marrozinni opened the Colibri Galeria on a sidestreet adjacent to Old San Juan Chapel. It soon became a magnet for contemporary Central and South American artists, including Omar Rayo, Rafael Tufino, Marcos Yrizarry, and others, as well as a venue for international exhibitions with noted artists such as Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso.
