Description
Judith Rothchild's mezzotint "Le Nid" is a wonderful example of her dedication to process to achieve the beautiful subtleties and textures of the final print. She has said of the technique, “Most people consider mezzotinting to be so long and tedious, they are astonished that anyone would consider doing it in this age of instant technology. It is, in fact, the time element which creates the process, and knowing how to work with it, rather than against it..." Rothchild is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and has lived in the South of France since 1974.
