This unique, rare poster was done to advertise the production of “Choice” by T.E.L.E. Productions and Intersection in 1987. The basic image was produced using blue "diazotype" Each poster was then uniquely hand colored. We have not seen another example to determine whether other artists participated or just Ms. Frank.
This was an early production of what came to be the still functioning San Francisco institution “Intersection for the Arts”. This poster wa hand painted by M. K. Frank and pencil signed by her.
The production credits include: Ellen Sebastian, Conceiver and Director; Jack Carpenter, Design and Technical Director; Peter Maravelis, Audio-visuals; Harry Ingram, Original Music; M.K. Frank and Donna Sharee, Gallery Art; Turi Reynolds, Production Coordinator.
Performers included: Beverlee Blair, Jim Cave, Sam Hurwitt, Siana Hurwitt; Teddy Love, Alex Martin and Jan Svaifler. It was performed in Intersection's home at the time, 76 Union St. in San Francisco.
