Description

Waif Mullins was born in Tennessee on October 6, 1949 but came to California as a child. He studied at Chico State in Chico, California where he still resides.

"Upper Park, Late Afternoon" was the artist's first screenprint and he used a number of techniques to achieve the result he sought including touche and glue, stencil and a "reduction" where he used the same screen, slowly stopping out areas with glue and printing over and over with the subtle changes.

Upper Park is a section of Bidwell Park in Chico and is an undeveloped area of the park that is used for hiking, biking, etc.
