Description
A strange, surreal portrait by Lydis, who seems to have specialized in depicting unusual women, in this case juxtaposing an exotic portrait with a turkey. Lydis herself lived on the edge, fleeing the Nazis with her partner Erica Marx on a perilous journey that ended in Venezuela where she spent the rest of her life. She was reputed to have been a close friend of American pilot Amelia Earhart.
