Description

Known as the Studio of the Imperial and Royal Court Photographers, the Dunky Brothers were active as studio photographers in late 19th early 20th centuries in Kolozsvár & Budapest, Hungary. Koloman (Kalman) Dunky was born in 1858 and died in 1935. His brother Ferenc (Franz) Dunky was born in 1860 and died in 1941.

The brothers were also active as still photographers for the silent film period in Hungary and are credited with introducing still photography to the nascent film industry.
